Adventures of 2012

Spanish Fork

We now have a new home.  After having moved to Utah just after Thanksgiving in 2011, now working two jobs myself, and Ryan going to school full-time, completing his 6-year commitment with the US Air Force, joining the Utah Air Guard, and working Part-Time for Lindon's Home Depot, we officially moved into our town-home May 28th.  We've painted a few walls, hung a few pictures, met our new family ward.   Things are finally falling into place.  Kali and Bailey are no longer with us, but we gained Ryan's cousin's cat in Kali's place, with HER name being Kallie.  

Addition to the Family

May 21st, as planned, Ryan's brother and wife gave birth to their first child, Milo Richard Harris, a 3 lb 15 ounce baby boy.  We were able to meet this bundle of joy May 30th, the day prior to his baby blessing, and two days after we moved into our new home.  Currently (as of a week or so ago), Milo weighs in at 7 lbs! 

Road Trip

Every summer, my mom and I take a road-trip to visit my brother, sister-in-law, and two nephews in Carlile, WY.  We always make an adventure of it, attempting to visit new places.  

This trip, we drove I-15 to Ashton, ID and took the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway up to Island Park, Idaho where I spotted a couple of cow moose.  We entered into West Yellowstone and headed North to Mammoth Hot springs, towards the North Eastern exit into Cooke City, where we then spotted a grizzly bear.  

We camped out that night in Cooke City, waking to mom's dog Decker barking...  at a grizzly bear in a neighboring camp who was sniffing around for bacon.  Apparently, grizzlies like bacon, diesel and gasoline cans. 

We left Cooke City, and drove the Beartooth Divide Highway, finally reaching Interstate 90, and made it to the ranch, where two little boys greeted us.  

Mom and I chased a border collie across half of Crook County while my brother wrestled a pig, and broke his hand which needed a plate and 7 screws.  We fished and swam at Cook Lake just above Sundance.  We visited Reptile Gardens in Rapid City, South Dakota where the boys got to pet a alligator named Fluffy, a 50 yr old tortoise, and a python.  

We had a great road trip, and now it's time to get back to the real world.
